Beloved Enemy Chapter 39

GuQingPei won 200,000 yuan in a game of golf. WangJin won 300,000 yuan. Therefore, WangJin made reservations at a restaurant and treated the group to a seafood feast.

YuanYang had wanted to get GuQingPei home but he saw that GuQingPei was in high-spirits and had started to discuss cooperation projects with WangJin. The two men were immersed in their discussion and didn’t even bother looking at YuanYang.

YuanYang sulked all afternoon. The more he looked at WangJin, the more he felt that this person’s smiling face was too hypocritical and the way he looked at GuQingPei is definitely not quite right.

YuanYang had already seen the information on some of them; there were issues with disputes over property rights that have not yet been resolved but coming out of GuQingPei’s mouth, it sounded as if it was nothing.

In terms of bragging, GuQingPei will definitely not lose to anyone.

After the meal, YuanYang went to get the car. WangJin waited with GuQingPei at the restaurant’s entrance.

WangJin was a little drunk; unknowing whether it was intentional or not, he leaned toward GuQingPei’s body.

GuQingPei quickly supported him and smiled, “Chairman Wang, your alcohol tolerance is weak and still wanted to get me drunk.”

WangJin smiled and waved his hand, “My bad… my bad, I didn’t observe well at the enemy’s intelligence.”

“Chairman Wang, your car is here, go in first”

From the inside of the car, YuanYang could see WangJin’s hand on GuQingPei’s waist, he started to burn with rage. He stepped his foot harshly on the gas pedal, a very loud noise rumbled from the car as it sped forward at frightening speeds, abruptly stopping on the two people’s side, scaring them out of their wits.

YuanYang got out of the car as GuQingPei angrily shouted, “Is that how you drive!?”

WangJin’s expression is also not very good. After drinking, any sort of provocation will be heightened. It was already a bit intimidating earlier.

YuanYang insincerely responded, “I thought the gas pedal was the brake, accidentally stepped on the wrong one.”

WangJin shook his head and stepped forward. Despite drinking and his legs somewhat wobbly, he still courteously opened the door for GuQingPei, exposing a charming smile, “Director Gu, go in.”

GuQingPei said a few polite words and bid his farewell before getting into the car.

YuanYang hastily drove away.

YuanYang slammed on the brakes.

GuQingPei’s body suddenly propelled forward and he nearly threw up.

YuanYang is furious; his hand that is holding the steering wheel trembled. Even though GuQingPei’s words were ear-piercingly harsh, he couldn’t refute it. When he seriously pondered over it, he and GuQingPei, besides ridiculing and being cruel to one another, it seems that they really haven’t seriously talked about anything nor have they even calmly and peacefully talked. Infact, their conversations often ends with them attacking and mocking each other.

Thinking that WangJin and GuQingPei could talk and laugh, happily conversing, YuanYang is so enraged that he wanted to hit someone. But not having any common topics to talk with GuQingPei was really not something he had ever considered or think would make him resentful.

GuQingPei braced himself with his back, “Damn, can you drive a little more carefully, I almost threw up.”

YuanYang responded resentfully, “You deserve it. If you die from drinking, well so be it.” He restarted the car but his eyes were still burning with rage.

He bitterly thought that the relationship between him and GuQingPei is nothing more than fuck buddies; just fucking each other is enough. Why do they need to have common topics to talk about? But thinking in such ways did not make his heart feel at peace; instead, it made him feel worse.

After they got to GuQingPei’s house, YuanYang also followed him up the stairs.

GuQingPei glanced at him, “You’re not going back (to your home)?”

“It’s too late, lazy to drive back.” He took off his shoes, treating GuQingPei’s home as if it was his own home and went into the house.

GuQingPei was too lazy to stop him so he just let him do whatever. He went to take a shower. When he came out, he saw that YuanYang was still sitting on the couch with his head turned, looking out the windows, not knowing what he was thinking.

After the shower, GuQingPei had sobered up, “You’re just planning on sitting there all night??”

YuanYang didn’t care whether GuQingPei heard it or not as he whispered, “I’m annoyed with that Wang guy. In the future, don’t hang out with him that much.” After he said that, he put his hand on GuQingPei’s waist and slowly closed his eyes.

GuQingPei opened his eyes and looked at YuanYang face’s in close proximity, his eyes sparkling.

When GuQingPei woke up the next morning, YuanYang had already returned from his run and had prepared breakfast.

“Come eat.” YuanYang’s tone was a bit cold. It was obvious that he had not gotten over his anger from yesterday’s incident.

GuQingPei furrowed his brows looking at him, “How did you know that YuanYuan is my ex-wife? Did you investigated me?”

“What’s there to investigate? It’s clearly written in the family register.” YuanYang put down his chopsticks, “Since she’s an ex-wife, why speak of her intimately? Aren’t you gay?”

“We’re still friends.” GuQingPei didn’t want to talk about this at all. His face becoming grim, “Don’t butt into my affairs in the future.”

YuanYang humph, “Who cares about your affairs?” Thinking that he had already asked about ZhaoYuan, he explained, “I have a buddy in the public security system. I just blurted out asking him about it.”

GuQingPei mildly added, “Don’t even blurt it out in the future.”

Driving to work, YuanYang did not speak to GuQingPei. GuQingPei was more than happy. He even closed his eyes and rested in the car for a while.

For an entire day, YuanYang did not appear in GuQingPei’s office.

Even though he was not use to this peacefulness, GuQingPei felt exceptionally relaxed. He did not expect YuanYang to pick him up after work so he planned on walking to a Thai restaurant near the company for dinner to avoid the peak hours of hailing for a taxi home.

Perhaps he should take a few girls from the company out to eat and watch a movie. They’ve worked so hard…..

GuQingPei called Zhang Xia and tells her to come into his office.

Very soon, Zhang Xia knocked on his door.

“I’m taking them to dinner and a movie tonight. You wanna come? ”

“If you don’t want to go, you could leave first. Don’t have to drive me.”

GuQingPei furrowed his brows, “What shit are you talking about?”

YuanYang walked forward and picked up the laptop bag that he had always carried with him and he coldly groaned, “Let’s go, Director Gu.”

That night, they watched a US blockbuster movie about sea storms. The 3d visual effects are done extremely well. Only ten minutes into the movie, the sea storm scenes started and everyone watched attentively.

YuanYang was sitting beside GuQingPei. His mind was not on the movie but on GuQingPei.
