Beloved Enemy Chapter 80

After GuQingPei hung up the phone, he finally decided to turn on his cell phone.

All his missed calls and text messages alerted for a full two minutes. He sighed. The first thing he did was called his parents back. Fortunately, his parents didn’t seem to be aware of the incident. They were just a little worried because he hasn’t called them for many days. He appeased them and quickly hung up.

Then, he called WangJin. It was a long time before WangJin answered, “Hey? QingPei. You finally turned on your phone.”

GuQingPei asked very bluntly, “Did you send our pictures to YuanYang?”

WangJin smiled and said frankly, “Yep, you’re angry.”

GuQingPei furrowed his brows deeply, his heart felt a bit unease, “Wang Ge, you’re not an immature person. Why would you do something like that?”

“Why can’t I be immature for once? QingPei, do I need to make it clear to you? I’m pursuing you now. YuanYang is my love rival. I will certainly use every opportunity to beat him. Isn’t this what every man would do? If you’re angry, I’m sorry.”

In the face of such calming attitude, even GuQingPei is speechless. He was silent for a long time before responding, “Wang Ge, between YuanYang and I, it is our personal matters. I hope you won’t meddle. I didn’t say anything before, but the things you did, there is nothing I could do about it. But I want to say this now, can you give me some respect?”

WangJin smiled, “I will certainly respect you. I won’t ever do that again. QingPei, I’m sorry.”

This insincere apology, of course, did not make GuQingPei feel any better.

If he was to work in WangJin’s company, he would soon have to face YuanYang’s wrath anyway. But still, he didn’t want YuanYang to find out like this. YuanYang acts too impulsively. His piercing words that is full of rage on the phone today made him a little worried.

He is already mentally exhausted; returning to Beijing will probably consume most of his willpower so he really didn’t want to deal with the accusations coming from YuanYang. Especially, since YuanYang is the real culprit behind the entire incident.

He didn’t think he owed YuanYang any explanations.

As for his path going forward, he already made his decision. Besides working for WangJin, there is no other alternatives. He really has no reason to give up on the only opportunity that would enable him to stand right back up and start new again. The only thing he had to consider now is the details of the contract. Hearing WangJin’s intent, he will be joining the company as the vice president, responsible for asset disposal. In reality, it is to work on projects. WangJin’s Real Estate Corporation involves a lot of land and property disputes, successful resolution to any of these issues can lead to favorable substantial profits. On the contrary, high profits inevitably have high risks. WangJin purchased these asset packages from major asset companies. Basically, they are all very difficult projects, but GuQingPei likes the challenging work.

Indeed, WangJin values him highly to be giving him such challenging efforts. GuQingPei was grateful to WangJin, but at the same time he was increasingly concerned that the ambiguous relationship between them will get deeper and deeper. It seems that getting this job may not be the thing that would cause him the greatest headache. Instead, it is the adoration from his boss. This is really a challenge that he has never experienced before.

As for YuanYang…..

When GuQingPei think of him now, he can’t stop himself from getting a headache. He can only take a step at a time. Since he is forced to this point, if he doesn’t charge forward, what can he do?

Before WangJin returned, GuQingPei ended his vacation early and returned to Beijing.

He had only left Beijing for two weeks. It was only a short period of two weeks, but when he returned, his mood was already very different. When he left, he was utterly dejected and depressed, looking like a mournful dog. Returning, his heart still felt a bit depressed.

He had already sent an email to WangJin and is waiting for him to return to the country so they could discuss the contract details.

He did not go back to Chengdu. Of course, he also didn’t tell anyone he had returned to Beijing. He just stayed at home alone, doing little things here and there to past the time.

He didn’t expect that after resolving the predicament with his future outlook, his heart could still not be at peace. This is because there was no difference from the time he left, his mind was not on the sex photos but on YuanYang. Right now, he is trying his best to not think about those photos. Since there is a way out, this shitty impact on him wasn’t as terrible but he was still thinking about YuanYang.

Up until now, he had come to realize that all his fears, his distress, his pain were not just because of his failed career but also because of his failed relationship. Which one was more painful for him? He could not measure it at all. He only knows that right now, his career can be saved but this wrongly-invested feelings can’t be.

Very often, he was unable to comprehend how a smart and realistic person like him could allow himself to fall into a dilemma of a love affair. He is clearly a person that is principled and reasonable. Obviously, he had known all along that YuanYang is not a suitable partner, but he consistently failed at stopping himself.

Getting to the aftermath of today’s hopeless situation, he is also responsible. His responsibility is in not making the right choice for himself.

During this half month of idle time, the most that he has done was ponder over things, continuously pondered over things. However, no matter what beliefs he used, be it Confucianism, Buddhism or Taoism to ease his anxiety, he still can’t get away from the shadows of YuanYang.

He really didn’t know what to do.

The second day after he returned home, the door lock opened without warning while he was reading and listening to music.

GuQingPei’s heart jumped violently as he bolted up from the couch.

Unsurprisingly, YuanYang entered the house with his entire body exuding chilling air. He (YuanYang) was not a bit alarmed when he saw him (GuQingPei), as if he knew he (GuQingPei) was going to be home.

The two stared at each other with only a few meters apart; obviously they could touch each other in just a few steps, but there seemed to be an invisible ravine running in between them.

GuQingPei’s lips trembled as he softly muttered, “Give me back my key.”

YuanYang did not respond but instead removed his shoes to walk into the house. It was as if he was just habitually going in and out of this home, like he did the many times before.

Then, he walked toward GuQingPei. GuQingPei stepped back, not knowing why, but he was a bit anxious.

YuanYang expressionlessly walked up in front of him, reaching his hand out to grip his chin, “There were some things that were delayed yesterday or I would have picked you up at the airport.”

GuQingPei didn’t speak and just stared at him.

“Did you enjoy your vacation? With WangJin?”

“I didn’t go on vacation with him. He went to Saipan by himself.”

“Then was the photo fake?” YuanYang used his fingers to touch GuQingPei’s lips, his movements were soft but his eyes were chillingly cold, making people tremble with fear.

“Let me tell you, I’m not obligated to explain to you. Leave the keys and get out.”

YuanYang instantly grasp onto his waist with one hand and held him firmly in his arms, lowering his head to smell his hair and face, “I’ve already checked. You and him stayed in the same hotel for five days; did you have sex with him?”

GuQingPei only felt his entire body drenched in cold sweat. YuanYang did not look at all normal. Ironically, GuQingPei is actually more familiar in confronting the YuanYang that would erupt into furious rage when encountering problems. He faintly voiced, “YuanYang, that’s enough, leave my keys and leave.”

“Leave? I’ve always considered this to be my home… our home.” YuanYang suddenly grabbed his hair to force him to look up at him, “I’m asking you again, did you have sex with him?”

GuQingPei’s anger simmered from his heart, “Let me go. You don’t have the rights to ask me.”

“Is that a Yes or a No?”

“Let me go!” GuQingPei clenched his fist and swung it toward YuanYang’s face.

YuanYang instantly grabbed onto his wrist and forcibly twisted it. GuQingPei painfully cried out; his entire body was turned over, followed by the pain in his knee. He was kneeling on the ground on one knee. YuanYang immediately pressed him onto the ground, straddling him. Then he reached out his hands to tear apart GuQingPei’s clothes. His actions all in one go, leaving GuQingPei no room for resistance.

“YuanYang!” GuQingPei stared with his eyes wide open. There is no trace of expression on YuanYang’s face. His eyes are so deep that one can’t even see the bottom, with no way of knowing how much rage and malicious currents are within. This really makes the chills run down someone’s spine.

YuanYang very easily removed GuQingPei’s upper clothes, his eyes fell on every part of his upper body, inspecting it very carefully.

GuQingPei turned to stare at him, his eyes frightened and enraged, at the same time feeling the pain is like a knife being twisted in his heart.

He really didn’t know what he was holding onto. From the beginning to end, the person giving him the deepest humiliation had always been YuanYang.

After YuanYang inspected his upper body, he still refused to stop. He ruthlessly removed GuQingPei’s pants. GuQingPei, a man more than 30 years old, is like a child getting his clothes completely taken off in the living room. GuQingPei’s face flushed red, his chest continuously rise and fall. At this time, he couldn’t wait to bite off YuanYang’s throat.

It was not until YuanYang confirmed that GuQingPei’s body did not have any traces of what he shouldn’t have, that he was able to pull himself back from nearly collapsing. He slowly released his hands.

GuQingPei sat up on the ground and furiously slapped YuanYang’s face twice. The strength he used was so immense that YuanYang’s head was buzzing and his ears ringing. If his body was weak, this might have made him stupid.

YuanYang raised his eyes to glare at GuQingPei, his eyes bloodshot, “If you dare have sex with him, I won’t let him off nor will I let you off.”

GuQingPei nearly crushed his teeth, “Get the fuck out!!”

YuanYang’s heart painfully ache, “Right now, besides telling me to ‘fuck off’ is there nothing else that you can say?”

GuQingPei looked at him coldly, “Nothing else.” He had long ago knew that YuanYang is not the type of person that would be a good companion, but he didn’t know how much of a bastard YuanYang could be.

YuanYang looked at GuQingPei, his eyes a bit blurry, “I can’t protect you, it is my fault. But can’t you wait for me? I’ll be able to catch up soon…very soon. You don’t need to go to other people, don’t need to look at other people. I can’t take it. I really can’t take it. I’ve been going crazy these few days. Do you know how I passed every minute and every second? You can’t be with another person. I really won’t be able to take it.”

GuQingPei looked at him, bitterly disappointed, “YuanYang, don’t even mention such foolish thing as protection. If you don’t bring me endless troubles and humiliation, I already thank the heavens. You don’t think that making a fool of me is enough? I’ve been utterly disgraced and ruined. What the hell do you still want? We are originally from two different worlds. I’ve finally awakened. You also need to wake up quickly. Get out of this door and don’t ever come back to look for me again. From now on, I, GuQingPei, will have nothing to do with you. Just regard this as I’m begging you? Even when I had nothing to eat, I’ve never begged anyone, but right now, I’m begging you…. Give me a way out, okay?”

YuanYang’s bright eyes looked as if they were covered in a thick layer of ashen dust. There was no radiance in his eyes, only the deadly ashen color. He can’t describe how much pain his heart feels. Every single word coming out from GuQingPei’s mouth is like a knife slowly slicing his heart piece by piece…so painful, he didn’t know what to do.

He had faced many dilemmas growing up and had done many bad things. He had learned his lessons and had gotten punished. But he never regretted any of it. The only exception is with GuQingPei. The things he did to GuQingPei, he regretted ever doing it.

The gloominess in GuQingPei’s eyes made him feel completely at loss. He shook his head but could not speak.

GuQingPei exhaustively pushed him away. Then, dragged his semi-naked body back to the bedroom and slammed the door shut.

YuanYang remained in the living room for a long, long time. Then, walked out like a lost soul.

  1. I’m just glad this didn’t ended up in some kind of rape-possession like some other seme would have probably done. 😰 YY is still in the wrongs here – his jealousy is a big problem that isn’t even romantic anymore. Even thought WJ provoked him (which was a big dick move, ehem), if he had thought more clearly, he would’ve seen that his is exactly the thing WJ had planned.
